I am part of the Umbrella Yoga teaching team for the following 6-hour workshop. More details, including including how to book, can be found over on the Umbrella Yoga website.

Dates for the next workshops:
Thursday 7th May 2026
Tuesday 19th May 2026

Breathe, Move, Connect.

Using the principles of yoga to support health outcomes for ourselves and the adults that we support.
An introductory workshop for healthcare professionals, carers, and anyone who supports adults with additional needs.

How can we use yoga-inspired techniques to support our mental and physical health?

How can we share these practices with the adults with additional needs that we support?

This workshop will provide participants with practical ways to introduce simple, yoga-inspired, breath and movement techniques into their own workplace / everyday settings.

Breathe, Move, Connect. These three pillars underpin Umbrella Yoga’s work and provide a wonderful framework for exploring the benefits and practices of yoga: breathing, moving and connecting with ourselves and others. The workshop will be highly experiential, with yoga breath and movement practices forming the basis for theoretical discussion and exploration.

Specifically, the workshop covers
*how breath can be used to focus attention and foster a sense of calm
*the importance of physical movement and mobility for mental health
*examples of movements and breathwork that can be practiced independently
*how to role model and adapt practices for those with additional needs
*enhancing opportunities to connect with senses (e.g. music / sound / different visual environments / touch and taste)
*building confidence in using movement and breathwork to communicate and connect with others

Participants will get worksheets to take home, including all the practical exercises.
